When they relocated this coffeeshop
across the street, they brought along
one of the walls, a mural
of the city and surrounding landmarks
the painted wood panels now attached
to a concrete wall like lichen
first growth on glacier-smoothed stone
turning rock to infant soil
making space for what is to come.
